Ways to Spark Creativity

creativity

This week we’ve gone back to school! We’ve been in the classroom with Years 5 & 6 giving them an insight into the power of marketing.

We loved it.

But what really struck us is how creative they are – they aren’t hampered by all the other stresses and things going on in life – but are simply ‘in the moment’ which allows them to think really differently and come up with some fantastically innovative ideas. We were completely inspired and it led us to think about the 5 things that help us get the creative juices flowing.

Tips

#1. No idea is a bad idea, it just may not be fully formed yet. Sleep on it, talk about it, and work on it.

#2. Find a place that encourages you to think creatively, it may be when you’re walking or exercising, in a quiet room, or surprisingly in a noisy coffee shop!

#3. Check out other people’s journeys and brands for inspiration.

#4. When things don’t work out as you’d hoped, embrace it and learn from it.

#5. Not everyone is a natural creative so, if you don’t have the skillset in-house, then why not look to the experts?

And finally, we love this quote from Maya Angelou, “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have!”
